My unusual Christmas - The Goose

As my husband and I are away from our family, we decided to spend Christmas in a cool pub here in London.

When you're alone, make dinner for two and washing dishes after midnight wouldn’t be anything nice.

A month ago we seek which place, good, with fair price and close to home that we could go. 

One day, I went to the Westfield Shopping by bus, but before arrive there, I got off the bus to just know the surroundings.

I found a pub called The Goose, I entered and enjoyed the environment, space and your old style.

At that moment I decided that would be a good place to celebrate Christmas with my husband.

Most pubs here in London are more ancient, some even being from centuries past. Of course when they need, are remodelled but preserving this style. Has become a trademark of England.

It is interesting to note that the pubs are adapted, blend the old with the new. They offer happy hours with different cocktails or provide screens that cover up sports to the delight of mens.

The pub “The Goose” is a nice place for any time, your menu is nicely varied and well served.

People who attend are from families until young singles, it depends of the day. Pleasing to the general public.

Funny that on Christmas Eve, you will see a lot of costumed people on the streets, shopping, restaurants, buses etc.

This Christmas spirit is fantastic.

On Christmas, we arrived at the pub 9pm, did not have enough people at the time, but gradually people were coming.

In fact we had gone on “The Goose” close to our home in Walthamstow. This time, the first time in Stratford. 

This pubs company is spread over London, you'll probably find somewhere, but for better information into the website and check the exact location.

As we knew the kind of pub, we were not going to disappoint us with the meal.

We ordered two glasses of Spanish white wine, chicken skewer with salad and hand-battered fish, chips and peas. I know it is no more Christmas meal as I said was an unusual Christmas. The meals were excellent!

During the meal in the pub play Christmas songs, to tell the truth here in London everywhere play this kind of song.

Also we listen flashback style, mixed old songs and new ones. They made us remember good times of the past.

A small detail I noticed that in some pubs have those casino machines such as slot machines.

It has a lot of small bookmaker spread across London as well as even casinos in malls. I concluded that most British love games.

Ok! That was our unusual Christmas, but everything was very good and I was well accompanied.

The Goose was approved and I indicate.
