Breakfast in the Cereal Killer Cafe

For cereal addicts like me can not miss the Cereal Killer Cafe.
All kinds of cereal you can imagine are in this place.
When my family came to London to visit us, we were strolling by Camden Town, the region that Amy WineHouse lived.
If you want to see different shops and people, Camden is the right place.
On the tour we found this small establishment that provides for the cereal lovers an interesting way to innovate and eat your favourite cereal.
Creativity of twin brothers Alan and Gary Keery, started this idea after a hangover. Funny idea that worked.
In fact in the USA there is Cereality, establishment specializing in cereal. But it seems that the style is not like the idea of the brothers.
After much research and dedication, in December 10th 2014 they opened the first Cereal Killer Cafe in Brick Lane.
I only know the Camden stables, but for sure I will have other opportunities to meet the first store.
What fascinated me was the style the 80s and 90s it has.
We loved the exposed antique toys that were part of my childhood. Such as a rubber gnome with big eyes and coloured hair up.
I bet most people have or at least know that gnome.

The tv's connected pass cartoons like Jony Bravo, Super Powerful Girls, Dexter etc.
To be honest, not only attracts children despite having seen many families there, this retro style makes awaken the curiosity of people of all ages.

Upon entering I felt at home, it is a fully relaxed place.
You can even make a "sleepover party", sit in bed with friends and family to take a fun breakfast.
To book these places, only need to contact them. The phone is on the website, I'll leave the link at the end of the article.

They have 120 kinds of cereal in some countries (like USA, Australia, Germany, Spain, France and Israel), 20 different toppings and various dairy flavours (such as almond, rice and soy).
There are so many boxes I was confused with the various flavours that exist.
I didn’t order what I usually eat. I exaggerated in choosing!
The chosen, Jordan’s country crisp honey + nut sultana bran, and having coffee with milk.
It does not get in the sameness with a varied menu.
My father innovated adding in the milk mint essence. I confess, that the milk was cloying, but that's cool, people make the mix that suits them.

For you who enjoyed an interesting and exotic place, you may like to know Camden Town. To get better, then you can enjoy such a range of cereal that Cereal Killer Cafe offers.

My unusual Christmas - The Goose

As my husband and I are away from our family, we decided to spend Christmas in a cool pub here in London.
When you're alone, make dinner for two and washing dishes after midnight wouldn’t be anything nice.
A month ago we seek which place, good, with fair price and close to home that we could go.
One day, I went to the Westfield Shopping by bus, but before arrive there, I got off the bus to just know the surroundings.
I found a pub called The Goose, I entered and enjoyed the environment, space and your old style.
At that moment I decided that would be a good place to celebrate Christmas with my husband.
Most pubs here in London are more ancient, some even being from centuries past. Of course when they need, are remodelled but preserving this style. Has become a trademark of England.
It is interesting to note that the pubs are adapted, blend the old with the new. They offer happy hours with different cocktails or provide screens that cover up sports to the delight of mens.
The pub “The Goose” is a nice place for any time, your menu is nicely varied and well served.
People who attend are from families until young singles, it depends of the day. Pleasing to the general public.
Funny that on Christmas Eve, you will see a lot of costumed people on the streets, shopping, restaurants, buses etc.
This Christmas spirit is fantastic.
On Christmas, we arrived at the pub 9pm, did not have enough people at the time, but gradually people were coming.
In fact we had gone on “The Goose” close to our home in Walthamstow. This time, the first time in Stratford.
This pubs company is spread over London, you'll probably find somewhere, but for better information into the website and check the exact location.
As we knew the kind of pub, we were not going to disappoint us with the meal.
We ordered two glasses of Spanish white wine, chicken skewer with salad and hand-battered fish, chips and peas. I know it is no more Christmas meal as I said was an unusual Christmas. The meals were excellent!

During the meal in the pub play Christmas songs, to tell the truth here in London everywhere play this kind of song.
Also we listen flashback style, mixed old songs and new ones. They made us remember good times of the past.
A small detail I noticed that in some pubs have those casino machines such as slot machines.
It has a lot of small bookmaker spread across London as well as even casinos in malls. I concluded that most British love games.
Ok! That was our unusual Christmas, but everything was very good and I was well accompanied.
The Goose was approved and I indicate.
I wish to all happy holidays!
I hope the new year brings new hope for a better start :)

Gastronomic Tour in Borough Market

I came from far away, so I have rights to see all the attractions that London has to offer.
Stay on Saturday afternoon at home is the same as a bird trapped in a cage.
This time the chosen place was the Borough Market.
Similar to the Sao Paulo Municipal Market in Brazil (opened in 1933) and the Santiago Central Market in Chile (opened in 1872).
Two famous markets that I had the opportunity to know.
In fact, most cities around the world have a market that contain typical food of the country, besides contain products from other countries as well.
Like any old place has a lot of stories, I will talk a little bit about their history and my experience to know the Borough Market.
London's traditional market , contains a wide variety of food from fine Truffleds cheeses until Flapjacks ( it's common sweet here in London).
By the thirteenth century near London Bridge which is on the River Thames, many traders had the idea of selling their products near the river.
Years later they moved to Borough Hight Street, now known as the famous Borough Market.
It was closed in 1755 because of complaints from local residents, who couldn't have peace because of the tumult and noise that traders and people who frequented the market did.
Two years later it opened again, completing 250 years of existence.
If at that time closed because of the turmoil, nowadays the number of people multiplied. Madness is now!
Continuing my tour...
The market also has some stalls that sell products from other countries like Croatia for example. In particular, the stall that I liked, it reminds my family, my grandfather was born in Croatia.

Not only are the stalls that are from other places, but the people who are there.
It is a very popular market, have many people around the world who decide to know it on weekends, it's so crowded. There is no way to walk without bumping into someone.
We must be careful, everyone is mesmerized by the fragrance of food and drinks in this place. It is noticed a lot of people holding glasses of craft beer, wine, champagne and coffee as well, besides they walk eating.
For those who go with the intention of making the weekly market as if it were a normal market, you're wrong. Because it is a known market and contain a variety of gourmet and differentiated products that are not sold anywhere, therefore are expensive.
Of course has some exceptions such as fruits and vegetables compared to some super markets are more affordable or with the same value, but have more quality.

It is worth knowing, buy a gift for someone and go with empty stomach to prove some samples or choose some stall to eat.

I had lunch but I tasted all kind of oil and exotic cheeses.

The person has also option to go to restaurants, cafes and patisseries that wrap around the market.
During my tour I found on the side of the market a cool place known as Bakery School. For those who want to learn how to make bread and call friends to live this experience, this place has workshops that teach how to do different kind of breads.
Since we are on Christmas Eve students were doing a special bread for the day.
We can see from the outside people with hands-on, the door had a sign directing what is done in the day.
I loved it!
For those who have opportunity to know I advise to come on an empty stomach and go early because it is a very popular place.

Have fun with this gastronomic tour!
